Humans review published work
Final structure, factual claims, sources, affiliate disclosures, commercial conclusions, and published presentation are reviewed by a person responsible for the article or editorial workflow.
Images should stay honest
Illustrative or AI-generated lifestyle imagery may be used for general home concepts when it does not falsely represent a specific real product, test result, person, property, or event. Product-specific imagery should come from an appropriate verified source or clearly be treated as illustrative.
What AI must not invent
- Product specifications, prices, ratings, review counts, warranties, certifications, or ASINs.
- First-hand testing that did not occur.
- Sources, quotations, expert credentials, or customer experiences.
- Before-and-after results presented as real when they are not.
Product reviews and comparisons
AI can help organize verified information, but product reviews and comparisons must distinguish researched information from genuine first-hand use. “Tested” language should only appear when the team actually used the product under the stated conditions.
